You Gotta Move… There, I Said It
Last Sunday morning—right in the middle of getting ready for church—I got a phone call.
“Hey Phil… you’ve got a pine tree that fell from your property. It’s blocking the entire road.”
That was the last thing I wanted to hear.
My mind immediately went two directions:
Shouldn’t the county come clean this up?
Or… it happened—grab the Stihl and get to cutting.
Unfortunate and undesirable things happen. Period.
The real problem is when they paralyze us.
We sit.
We soak.
We throw ourselves a pity party.
And we don’t move.
Ecclesiastes 11:3-4 puts it this way:
“If the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies. He who watches the wind will not sow and he who looks at the clouds will not reap.”
Things are going to happen—things you don’t like and didn’t ask for.
Waiting on perfect conditions won’t change that fallen tree.
So you face it.
You respond.
You move forward.
Grab the Stihl.
Cut the tree.
Clear the road.
You can’t control what happened—but you can control how you respond.
Today, move. Go get it.
