Do they need a diagnosis—or a demon cast out?

Today, I’m not here to make a statement. I’m here to listen.
I’m asking you to do two things:
1. Pause and think
2. Share your thoughts honestly
In Mark 9:17–29, a father brings his son to Jesus. The boy is violent, self-destructive, and completely out of control. The father believes something deeper than physical sickness is happening—and Jesus ultimately casts out a demon and frees the child.
That raises a tension we still feel today.
If demonic possession was real in Jesus’ day, is it still possible now?
I worked in healthcare for nearly 20 years. I saw patients whose struggles seemed darker and deeper than what a chart or diagnosis could fully explain. At the same time, I know how dangerous it would be to dismiss real medical or psychological needs.
So here’s where I genuinely want to hear from you—not to argue, but to understand:
• Do you believe demon possession is still real today?
• Do you think some spiritual issues are too quickly labeled as only medical?
• How seriously do we take Jesus’ words: “This kind cannot come out by anything but prayer”?
No right answers required. Just honest thoughts.
I’ll be ready to read...
