Sometimes the problem isn't that God isn't working

I’m tired of missing out on incredible experiences simply because I refuse to pay attention or listen.
Can you imagine being born blind and never seeing all the beautiful things we get to enjoy every day? I can’t either.
John 9 tells the story of Jesus meeting a man who was born blind and giving him sight. That had never happened before—no one who’d been born blind had ever received their sight. But Jesus did it. He performed this miracle on the Sabbath, showing that He has authority even over the law itself.
Instead of rejoicing, the Pharisees fixated on when the healing happened instead of what God just did right before their eyes. They became blinded by their own religious pride.
Toward the end of the story (John 9:25–33), the man who was once blind ends up teaching the teachers—boldly declaring truth after truth about Jesus. But the Pharisees hardened their hearts and refused to listen. They kicked out the evidence of God’s power. They kicked out an opportunity to be blessed. They kicked out the chance to grow spiritually.
I don’t want to make that same mistake. I don’t want to miss out on seeing the power of God, feeling the power of God, or walking in His power. So I need to be ready to:
- Notice how God is working in and around my life
- Listen and learn from the people He sends to teach me
May we all have eyes to see and ears to hear today—so we can experience the goodness of God throughout this day and forevermore.
