“That was a good sermon, preacher…”

Y’all look plum mad most of the time.

I don’t think you mean to. When I look like that, I’m usually just thinking. Y’all probably are too.

I’ve said it before — I want to preach like Jesus did. I imagine the amens rolling. The that’s rights shaking the walls. The house full to the brim with folks hungry for truth.

But I need to be careful what I ask for.

Gospel of Luke 4:28–30 caught me off guard.

Jesus preaches the truth — straight and clean. They hear it. They hate it. And they try to kill Him.

No amens. No handshakes at the door. No “come back and preach again next Sunday.”

Just a cliff.

We’ve all got one calling: Be faithful with what God has given us.

The results? Those belong to Him.

Letting go of that part has been tough on me. But I’ve had a whole lot more peace since I did.

So whether you’re preaching tomorrow or sitting under the preaching…

Stay faithful to the Word — even if it stings a little going down.
