The 'insider secret' to being blessed (it’s not what you think)…

If you feel like you’re constantly "missing out" or waiting for your turn to be blessed, this shift in perspective will change your entire day.

Jesus gives us the insider scoop to get a blessing in the following Scripture:

Luke 11:27–28 - ²⁷While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.”  ²⁸But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”

We got Jesus, a woman, and a crowd. The woman hollers out to Jesus that His mother, Mary, is blessed. I would love to know what was in her heart that motivated the shout-out. I also would like to have seen her face as she anticipated Jesus’ response.

Anyhow, Jesus flips this statement, which was most likely said to be a compliment toward Him and His mother, and clearly identifies who can be blessed. Jesus said, “Those who HEAR the Word of God and OBSERVE it” are blessed (capitalizations mine).

I am so encouraged by this! I don’t have to be ‘special’ to be blessed. God graciously blesses those who trust Him and walk in obedience.

Don't just read a verse and close the Bible/app. Pick one thing—patience with your coworker, honesty in that email, or a moment of gratitude—and actually do it. That is where the blessing lives.
