You can serve Jesus and still neglect Him...

Busyness is not a valid excuse. Sometimes Jesus just needs you to sit down and listen.

In Luke 10, Martha welcomed Jesus into her home.
He accepts her invitation.
The Son of God is in the house!

Well, Martha goes to prepping and serving. She gets busy.
These aren’t bad things. Arguably, they are good things.

But you can host Him… and still ignore Him.

Mary, Martha’s sister, chooses something different. She chooses to sit at the feet of Jesus. She chooses to listen to His words.

Martha notices that Mary isn’t helping her. She takes her complaint straight to the Lord. She’s serving Jesus… and frustrated at the same time.

How He responds surprises her: “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

Instead of correcting Mary for not helping, He commends her for choosing the “good part” — Him.

So what do we do with that?

Make sure you’re not doing things for Him while neglecting Him.

Choose the good today. Choose Jesus.

Choosing the good may be:

- Resting

- Running as fast as you can go

The main thing is this:
Don’t let your service replace your relationship.

He is with you. Stay near.
