You Thought You Could Live With It

You usually don’t fall into sin overnight…you get used to it.

At first, it bothers you. Then you live around it. Next thing you know, you get comfortable with it.

That’s Lot in Genesis 19.

Ol’ Lot sitting in the gate of Sodom, which is a place of position. He didn’t just visit sin… he positioned himself in it.

As it often does, one night, sin showed up. A mob at his door—loud, violent, out of control.

The same sin he lived around… now staring him in the face. And now he wants it to stop—wants it gone.

“Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly.”

He calls them brothers… while begging them to change, but it’s too late. They ain’t listening. They don’t respect him. He can’t control them.

That’s what happens. If you tolerate sin long enough, a day will come when you want it gone…but it won’t listen to you anymore.

What you let stay… won’t stay small.

So what are you tolerating right now that you think you can manage later?

You are at a fork in the road:

* Deal with it now, by bringing it into the light and submitting it to Jesus

* Or risk it overpowering and seeking to destroy you.
